We went for a morning excursion to Jalan Surabaya in Menteng. Here there is a row of "Antique" shops. Its good for a peruse. As you walk down the row of shops the shopkeepers relatively gently ask you go come into their shops and look. Often there is someone making the antiques by carefully ageing something just in front of the shops, leading the cynical to question the age of the antiques.
We had a nice coffee at Giyanti Coffee Roastery which was very nice and seemed to be well frequented by the cooler young people of Jakarta,much like ourselves. They actually had a flat white and a lamination on the menu.
