Borobudor and Prambanan

Today we got up to catch the bus at 4am to see the Buddhist  temple at Borobudur. It was surprisingly easy to get the teenagers up and on the minibus. We trudged up a steel muddy hill then watched the sun rise from the top overlooking the temple in the misty valley with a few active volcanoes in the background.
We then went to Borobudur itself which is quite spectacular. There were lots of Indonesian school groups there who all wanted us (especially Catherine) to be in or take photos or interact with them. Catherine sat down and learned an Indonesian game with one pair of girls.
We then proceeded to Parambanan a Hindu temple from a similar period 1100 years ago. This is another large impressive temple complex. Here we had two young girls who took us round and explained the reliefs and statues to us.
The tour took 9 hours so I am now exhausted. These are just photos from my phone, the camera has a stack of others.
